Feel the Fear
As I approach the end of the calendar year and the beginning of a new phase of my life, I feel fear. Not the "I'm scared that there's a threat to my life" kind of fear. It's the kind of fear that moves you forward. The kind of fear that pushes you out of your comfort zone and into where the magic happens. The kind of fear that fluctuates between excitement and fear in a matter of seconds.
I once read a book called "Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway". I don't remember much of the content of that book- I should probably look it up and read it again- lol. But regardless, that title has always stuck with me. Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway.
It's so easy to run from fear, isn't it? It's that innate fight/flight/freeze response that I've talked so much about in my other blog posts. Run from the fear because our brain perceives it as an actual threat. A threat to our survival. After all, fear plays tricks and can trick us into thinking that the danger is real, rather than just a "hard thing".
For me- its the "hard thing" that I'm approaching.
In one week's time, I'll be officially working as "Brain FUNdamentals LLC." I'm feeling the fear- and doing it anyway.
I'll be honest with you. I don't know much about running a business. But, I've learned a ton in the last few years in my job at Brain Fit Academy, and I will learn more as a go. I always do.
I'm feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
I'm feeling the fear and pushing through it because I know that there are more kids and families that need help. There are more kids and families that need help and I know that I can provide that help. Yes, there are others- and I'm not discounting that. I'm just saying that I know that I can help, and want to help. I'm pushing through the fear so that I can "do it anyway".
What fear are you "pushing through"? Or maybe your child? Or perhaps- you (or your child) want to push through but you're stuck? I get that too. I was certainly stuck for a bit as well. Either way- if you need help, or just want someone by your side, I can be there.
In one week's time, I'll be Brain FUNdamentals LLC.
I'm feeling the fear, but doing it anyway, and I'm here if you need me.
Just get in touch.
